ARTIFICIAL CARIES FORMATION IN ACID BUFFERING SOLUTION

Abstract

The experiment was done for observing the characteristics of lesion formation on human tooth surface according to the degree of saturation of the enamel in the buffering solution containing various amounts of calcium and phosphorus at constant PH
4. 3.
We made 7 soluctions in different degree of saturation of the enamel. We made applying the nail burnish except the window(2×4mm) on the labial or lingual surface of the teeth. Put the teeth into the solutions and immersed in the 25℃ waterbath
for
each
3 days and 6 days. After ringing the teeth with deionized water and cut on the perpendicular for window of the teeth. We obsered the section under the polarizing light microscope. We could observe Subsurface lesion, Erosion, Cavitation, Nonlesion
according to various the degree of saturation of the enamel. So we can make the artificial carious lesion of the human tooth controlling the degree of saturation of the enamel in the buffering solution.
